Inspiration is everywhere, as long as you’re looking. And clearly, some folks around town have been looking at us. Below is the 175th Anniversary logo we made for the city of Austin, along with some nearly identical designs that turned up in the following months. The similarities are pretty overwhelming in our opinion. Oh well. Rip-off or not, we’ll take it as a compliment. But we’d also take a couple of free pizzas, or some kimchi fries, as “inspirational reimbursement”.
Thanks to Terran for putting together our Family Picnic graphics. And thanks to Mr. Sun for peeping out from behind the clouds and giving us a shiny happy day. If you didn’t get the chance to stop by for a snow cone, there’s always next year.
After spending most of your days embedded in the creative process, sometimes you just need to wreck something. That’s why there’s an obliterated 1996 Ford Thunderbird in our parking lot right now. It’s smashed up beyond recognition, courtesy of the 2015 Spicewood Destruction Derby. We’ll probably be asked to move it soon, and the request will probably include the word “eyesore”. But one man’s eyesore is another man’s trophy, so it’s staying for now.
Speaking of trophies, after all the mud settled (and we finally got that other guy off our hood), we somehow walked away with 3rd place. Not to mention some pretty great memories and some fine souvenirs. We’ve still got a few koozies, shop rags and tees for sale here.
And so 828ATX.com was brilliantly conceived...
